November 5, 2024 - Presidential Election

What's on the Ballot

On the ballot will be the offices of U.S. President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives (8th District), County Board (1 seat, ranked choice voting style) and School Board (2 seats). Constitutional amendments and bond questions will be updated as more information becomes available. 

Only candidates who have qualified to be on the ballot are listed below. The list of candidates will be updated as more information becomes available. Please note, candidates are not listed in ballot order. 

(D) = Democrat   (R)=Republican   (I)=Independent (Virginia code dictates political party affiliation can only be listed on the ballot for federal, statewide, and General Assembly offices only.)

Arlington County will be using ranked choice voting for the office of County Board (1 seat). Read more about Ranked Choice Voting.

Vote Early

Early Voting is open 45 days before all elections. All voters can vote at any Early Voting location. Early Voting hours and locations can be found here.

First day of Early Voting: September 20, 2024

Election Day - November 5, 2024

On Election Day, all Arlington polling places are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

You must vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day. 

Vote By Mail

All voters are eligible to vote a Mail Ballot. Voters must request a Mail Ballot. 

Voters can request a Mail Ballot until 5 pm, October 25, 2024

Mail Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before November 5, 2024 and received by 12pm, November 8, 2024
